Grand Seiko 43999 from 1965
For sale is a Grand Seiko 43999.
The 43999 and its family are famously known as the second Grand Seiko to be produced.
The second Grand Seiko got a few significant upgrade with the higher jewel count, date complication and the usage of a screw down case back that allows the watch to have a higher water resistance than its predecessor the Grand Seiko 3180.
The watch features Seiko's classic silver sunburst dial with the fans favorite dauphine hands and diamond cut indices.
It is worth nothing that with many variants of second Grand Seiko made, that "transition pieces" or parts replaced by Seiko and external watchmakers may result in piece with period incorrect parts.
The 43999 offered for sale here is powered by the period correct calibre 430 but later variant 5722-9990 dial.
The watch case is in immaculate condition with a few common hairline scratches seen. The dial and hands are free from any signs of aging. Light hairline scratches can be seen on the case. Tool marks can be seen on the case back. The medallion and original etching on the case back are in pristine condition.
The watch will come on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
