Grand Seiko 5645-7000 from 1971 (Idemitsu Special)
For sale is a Seiko 5645-7000.
The Grand Seiko 5645-7000 is a unique variant of the 56GS with design that strays far from its siblings.
Unlike its siblings that has sharp angular case, the 5645-7000 has a brushed C-case that is similar to that of the Vintage Omega Constellation designed by Gérald Genta.
The watch dial is kept clean with svelte baton hands and indices.
The example offered for sale here is a hardly seen "Idemitsu Special" that is created to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Idemitsu Foundation.
Similar to the "Toshiba Special" the "Idemitsu Special" has a custom case back with commemorative text on it with model and serial number on the inside of the case back.
The example offered is powered by the calibre 5645. The absence of day complication allows the watch to have a more symmetrical aesthetic.
The watch case in in excellent condition with minor scratches seen along the case. The dial and hands are in immaculate condition with no signs of aging seen. Light spotting can be seen on the medallion. A brand new crystal has been installed for clarity.
The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
