Grand Seiko 5722-9970 from 1967 (Toshiba Special)

For sale is a Grand Seiko 5722-9970.

The watch was produced by Seiko for Toshiba as a gift for employees who have completed 25 years of service for them.

Being a special production piece for Toshiba, the case back of the anniversary piece is stamped with "25 Years Continuous Service Acknowledgement, Tokyo Shibaura Electric Corporation (The current Toshiba)".

The 5722-9970 and its family are famously known as the second Grand Seiko to be produced.

The second Grand Seiko got a few significant upgrade with the higher jewel count, date complication, higher beat (increased to 19800bph from 5722B) and the usage of a screw down case back that allows the watch to have a higher water resistance than its predecessor the Grand Seiko 3180.

The watch features Seiko's classic silver sunburst dial with the fans favorite dauphine hands and diamond cut indices.

The watch case is in excellent condition with common hairline scratches seen. Light aging can be seen on both the dial and hands. The crystal is in immaculate condition with little signs of usage seen.

The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
