Grand Seiko 6146-8050 from 1972 (NOS Crystal)
For sale is a rarely seen Grand Seiko 6146-8050.
The watch features a characteristic double facet case side positioned right above the lugs, a design collectors recognize from the 6185 VFA case.
Sheltered by the case is a silver sunburst dial decorated with tall raised multifaceted indices that plays well with the minute markers printed towards the centre of the dial.
Powering this handsome piece is the calibre 6146 from the 61GS family. The 61 GS family is known as the first group of GS automatic movement beating at 36000bph.
Stringent regulations were imposed on the 61GS family which were regulated to the Grand Seiko standard of -3/+5 sec/day at the time of production.
The watch is in excellent condition other than multiple hairline scratches on the case. Slight corrosion can be seen on the medallion. Light spotting can also be seen on the dial. A NOS original crystal has been fitted to showcase the watch in its fully glory.
The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
