Highly sought after by many collectors, the 62GS watches are the first vintage automatic Grand Seiko calibre with a short production run of 2 years.
The 62GS features a clean bezel-less case with beautiful multifaceted lug. The watch also features a beautiful stepped dial that makes the gives the dial extra depth. All these features unique to the 62GS.
The example offered here is the early variant with the lion medallion that collectors prefers.
The watch features a gold cap finishing that allows the wearer to enjoy the aesthetic of a solid gold watch without paying the hefty price of one.
The gold cap finishing is superior to both gold filled with gold plated finishing that tarnish easily. A very thick layer of gold is applied from the the dial side - just like how you would put a cap on your head, thus the term "Gold Cap".
The watch case is in immaculate condition with common hairline scratches seen. All original lines on the watch remains sharp which is especially important for the 62GS. The dial is free from any signs of aging. Light signs of aging can be seen on the hands. A NOS crystal was installed for clarity.
The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
Serial number has been covered for privacy.
