For sale is a Seiko 5245-6010.

Multiple King Seiko Chronometer Special were produced in early 70s with the 5245-6010 being one of the rarer ones.

The 5245-6010 set itself apart from the rest by having an acrylic crystal instead of mineral and a sharper case as compare to the more commonly available 5246-6000.

The word "Special" printed on the dial is no marketing gimmick. Vintage Seiko watches with the word "Special" printed on the dial signifies a higher standard of regulation on the movement of the particular calibre.

Produced by Seiko's Daini factory, the 5200 series calibres are high end automatic watch movement produced as their last attempt in winning the competition against the Suwa factory.

Other than its superior accuracy, the calibre 5245 also feature instant date change which is highly celebrated by fellow collectors.

Even though the Daini factory is no longer around, the innovation of 5200 calibres continue to live on in Seiko's 4s calibres as seen in Credors and “Red Alpinist” series.

The watch was professionally serviced in July 2020 and is running chronometer grade accuracy.

The watch is in mint condition with little signs of usage seen other than a scratch on the dial between 1 to 2.

The watch comes on a matching Seiko bracelet.
