Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date 1500 Circa 1970
For sale is a Rolex 1500.
Making its debut in the early 60s, the 34mm Rolex 1500 Oyster Perpetual Date is commonly referred to as the smaller brother of the iconic Datejust that measures 36mm.
Commonly compared with the 34mm Air-King, it is worth noting that the 1500 is powered by a Chronometer Certified movement while those in the Air-King aren't.
The sample we are offering for sale features a classic silver sigma sunburst dial. The sigma character can be spotted on pieces made throughout the 70s to highlight that the hands and indices of the watch were made of solid gold.
This particular piece is also powered by the most updated calibre 1575 with hacking, longer power reserve of 48hours and higher beat rate of 19800bph.
The watch case is in well worn condition with signs of polishing and usage seen. The serial and reference number case is hardly visible. The lume on both the watch dial and hands has developed signs of aging. The watch crystal is free from scratches.
The watch comes on the No. 7835-19 bracelet with No. 60 endlinks with full 13 links that fits up to 7.5" wrist.
