Seiko 1944-0020 from 1970

For sale is a Seiko 1944-0020.

The watch features world's first 36000bph calibre for ladies. This is an incredible achievement for Seiko as many challenges had to be overcome during the process of designing the calibre (due to the petit size of the calibres used in ladies watches)

Seiko was able to overcome those difficulties and finally launched it in 1967.

The calibres were later modified and used in vintage ladies Grand Seiko (calibre 1964) and VFA (calibre 1968).

The 1944-0020 features a highly sought after linen dial that is cased within a unique C-Case.

The 1944-0020 is also one of the rare ladies pieces to feature a gold medallion on the case back.

The watch case is in excellent condition with common hairline scratches seen. The watch dial and hands are free from any signs of aging. Common hairline scratches can be seen on the crystal that can be buffed away by request.

The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
