Seiko 5719-8980 from 1964

For sale is a Seiko 5719-8980.

The Seiko 45899 powered by the calibre 5719 was launched along with the 6217 World Time to commemorate the 1964 Tokyo Olympics (with the Olympics Torch stamped on the case back).

The 5719-8980 was launched right after the 458990 with a much needed upgrade to steel bezel instead of the brittle bakelite bezel found on the 45899 and 458990.

The watch case is in excellent condition with common signs of usage seen. Light aging can be seen on the pusher. The watch dial is in immaculate condition with light dots that are hardly visible. The hands are free from any signs of aging. The crystal is free from any scratches.

The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.

Serial number has been covered for privacy.
