Seiko Dolce 9531-5000
For sale is a Seiko 9531-5000.
Making its debut on the second page of the Seiko's 1982 catalogue right after the Superiors, the Seiko Dolce line eventually took the first page in 1983, starting its reign as Seiko's main line for high accuracy quartz up till 1989 when Grand Seiko made arrival to take the first spot once again.
The Italian word "Dolce" can be translated as "graceful" and this can be seen through the aesthetic of the whole Dolce collection.
Collectors might be familiar with linen dials and its charm but linen textured case such as the one seen on this 9531-5000 is a rare sight.
The watch case is then paired with an understated tactile textured dial that complements the case.
Powered by the high accuracy quartz calibre 9531, the calibre 9531 is the predecessor of the calibre 9587 used in the "first" Grand Seiko quartz.
The calibre 9531 boast an accuracy of ±20/year and a battery life of 3 years. The thin calibre also allows the watch to sit well on the wrist with a thickness of just 4.8mm.
The watch is then finished with a contrasting black onyx stone on the crown further exuding the elegance of the watch.
The watch is in immaculate condition with little signs of usage seen on the case. The watch dial and hands are free from any signs of aging. The crystal is free from any scratches.
The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
