Seiko Lord Marvel 5740-8000 from 1968

For sale is a Seiko 5740-8000.

The watch is known for being the first Seiko to be sold with a calibre beating at 36000bph. The high beat movement allows the seconds hand to sweep smoothly without much "stuttering".

A higher beat rate also reduce the amount of deviation per day.

There are two main dial variant for the 5740-8000, one with a classic silver sunburst dial and another which features a linen dial decorated with raised Arabic indices.

The watch case is in excellent condition with light hairline scratches seen. Light aging can be seen on the edge of the dial. The hands are free from any signs of aging. The crystal is free from any scratches.

The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.

Serial number has been covered for privacy.
