Seiko Red Alpinist SCVF007 from 1997
For sale is a highly sought after Seiko SCVF007.
The Seiko Alpinist collection is one of the most highly sought after collection by fellow seiko collectors. Originally created for Japanese mountain climbers, the alpinist collection often feature an inner bezel compass.
With a similar dial layout and case shape many might mistake the SCVF007 with the SARB013 and SBDC093 at the first glance. Upon looking further, one will begin to notice the few differences the SCVF007 possess.
Two major aesthetic differences being the smaller case size of 37mm and the lack of the red "Alpinist" printing at 6.
The one key factor that makes the SCVF007 superior than the other two is the heart of it; the calibre 4s15.
The 4s15 movement is the descendant of the revered Daini 52 movement. The 4s15 beats at 28000bph, has 40hours power reserve and an accuracy of +25/-15. All this which is similar to the current 8L movement other than the power reserve.
The watch is in well worn condition with light nicks seen on the bottom left and top right lugs. The watch dial and hands are free from any signs of aging. The crystal is free from scratches.
The watch comes with its original bracelet which fits up to 6.5" wrist.
