Seiko Seikomatic 6216-9000 from 1966
For sale is a Seiko 6216-9000.
Nicknamed the "Baby 62GS" the Seiko 6216-9000 is a sibling to the highly sought after 62 Grand Seikos.
The design team at Seiko spared no effort with the designing of the 6216-9000. The hands and indices are multifaceted and polished at all angles to reflect the light that passes through the domed acrylic crystal.
The silver sunburst dial features a day/date window identical to those seen on the 62GS and the same scripted Seikomatic logo on the Chronometer 62 Seikomatic.
The screw-down case back is finished with a crowned dolphin to mark the watch's superiority over other offerings from Seiko.
Powered by the 39 jewels automatic calibre 6216, the calibre is essentially a non regulated and chronometer graded version of the calibre 6246.
It is worth noting that it is extremely challenging to find a 6216-9000 with a pristine dial. Most shows sign of aging along the edge of the dial.
The watch case is in excellent condition with little signs of usage other than common hairline scratches on the case. Very faint signs of aging can be seen on the edge of the dial especially between 10-12. The hands are free from any signs of aging. Light hairline scratches can be seen on the crystal.
The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
