Seiko Seikomatic Blue Yacht from 1961 (SD Dial)
For sale is a Seiko J13034E.
Produced for a short period around 1961 and 1962, the Seikomatic Blue Yacht is highly sought after for its beautiful swirl dial and hidden crown design.
Going deeper into the dial, we see a star like logo above 6 that indicates that the watch indices are solid gold. Seiko watches with marked with the star are commonly referred to as SD dials and are highly collectible.
Like its other Seikomatic siblings, the watch features a hidden crown design to boost its symmetry. The absence of day/date complication definitely helps re-emphasize that.
The watch also receive a unique etching of a yacht on the case back to echo the blue yacht branding given to the watch.
The watch case is in well worn condition with hairline scratches seen across the case and a deep mark well hidden on the back in betwene the lugs at the top. The watch dial, dial ring and hands are in excellent condition with minimal signs of aging. The crystal remains in immaculate condition with no visible scratches.
The watch comes one a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
