For sale is a Seiko 5216-8030.
The 5216-8030 is one the rare Seiko Lord Matic that is signed Silverwave.
The Seiko Silverwave family is widely known as the first group of Seiko watches suitable for diving (or light diving).
True to how most Silverwave are like, the 5216-8030 features a screwdown crown and case back.
With all watches equipped with calibre from the 52XX family signed "Special" on the dial, it is interesting to note that Seiko remove the "Special" signing above 6 to make way for the "Silverwave" signature. One can only assume that Seiko was trying to prevent the dial from looking cluttered.
Zooming out, we get to appreciate the dark grey dial sunburst dial that is decorated with applied Breguet style numerals along the edge of the dial.
The 5216 calibre is the most updated calibre from the 52 family that allows you to quickset the day and date at your desired timing which the other 52s lack.
Even though the Daini factory is no longer around, the innovation of 5200 calibres continue to live on in Seiko's 4s calibres as seen in Credors and “Red Alpinist” series.
The watch dial and hands are in perfect condition with no signs of aging seen. Multiple signs of usage can be seen across the case. The crystal is free from any scratches. Serviced in December 2020, the watch is ready to be used for a prolong period before the next servicing is required.
The watch comes on a brand new handmade top grained leather strap.
